Mr. Brissman spent his entire legal career practicing workers’ compensation law, with the last twenty years representing lien claimants exclusively. He has written numerous articles for California Workers’ Compensation Quarterly, the State Bar publication for its Workers’ Compensation Section members and WorkCompCentral. He has taught lien issues at dozens of seminars and has successfully conducted hundreds of lien trials.
Although now retired, Mr. Brissman continues to serve as an invaluable resource to Brissman & Nemat and continues to be available, on an advisory basis, to assist Ms. Nemat in complex workers’ compensation matters. In addition, Mr. Brissman continues to do what he does best; teach workers’ compensation litigation skills to providers, attorneys, and representatives.
Mr. Brissman is founder and a past Chairman of the San Bernardino County Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section, and previously served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the San Bernardino County Small Claims Court.
Mr. Brissman obtained his bachelor’s degree from Parsons College and went on to obtain his master’s degree from Northeast Missouri State University. After serving in the education field for a number of years, Mr. Brissman obtained is Juris Doctorate from the Western State University College of Law.
